This is a simple and complicated question combined. I needed a new clock / timer for my stove. I went to the AppliancePartsPros.com web site and found the schematic for my stove and the part shown was AP2150424. I ordered the part and received a part number 5303935110. It is similar but not identical to the one that was there. The one that I took out had a part number of 316027202.

I put the new one in and it fit, and all the connectors match up except the new timer has a connector EB that the old timer does not have. The old timer has a spot for E8 on the circuit board, but there is no terminal attached to the board there. The terminal next to E8 is E3, and the old timer had two wires connected to E3. One looks like a ground (it is green). I wonder if I should separate those two wires and put one on E8 or just leave it unconnected.

I replaced the clock timer last march as I said. I got the F1 error again in October so I replaced the timer again. The time went bad again a few weeks ago. Now I have the third new timer to replace.

Is there any possible other reason for this product to fail after just 6 months?

Yes, I am 99% sure it just said F1. We were baking something and we hear a beep and we saw FI on the clock face,

E3 says GND and E8 says NO, maybe that means there is no connection.

I hear that these boards should last years, Ifigured I had it wired right, but I was looking for some reason that two would fail in just one year. I will check out the surge supressor. Thanks for the advice.
