Here’s what happened. Frig is almost 11 years old and has always worked well with steady temps until now. Dedicated GFCI outlet for frig popped with no one around it and not opened for at least an hour. Happened again when tested in another circuit. Later was able to plug in and get lights but compressor doesn’t start. I thought there may be an internal fuse or circuit breaker but can’t find anything besides a part called OVERLOAD. This is part of Compressor Start Device Kit. Any ideas? Thanks. Link to diagrams – see No. 9, Unit http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=249850&diagram_id=56676#d56676

Go figure but it's been working again for about 18 hours now after plugging it back in just to see what happened – steady temps and making ice. Could dirty coils have triggered a shut off as a system protection? It that what the overload does or something else? Any ideas on why the GFCI outlet tripped? Are you a tech? Thanks.

The pro's say never use a ground failt device to power a refrigerator, too many fridg. areas that could cause a leakage current. I would clean the condensing coils, may have caused the compressor to shut down on it's thermal overload.
