My dishwasher makes my pipes bang when it is filling with water--could it be the water inlet valve is bad? If not, what else could be wrong?

If the unit is doing a good job washing the dishes then it is probably a plumbing problem.

Just Google "plumbing banging pipes" for possible causes.
