Hello,

I have a Whirlpool dishwasher – the model number is DU800DWGX1. Recently, the soap dispenser will not open during the washing cycle. This had happened periodically in the past, but by no means every time. However, it has happened every time over the past couple of weeks. If I close the soap door and manually turn the dial to simulate a wash cycle, it opens. It just will not open during the actual wash cycle. It appears to be a sticking issue – meaning the soap door is actually sticking to the soap. I have tried both liquid and powder and the results are the same. When the cycle is complete and I see that the door has not opened, I can push the little latch that should open the soap door, but it will not open because it is sticking to the soap. Needless to say, this is very frustrating. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Did the lid pop-up at this time? Check the lid spring. Check for any obstructions.
