I have a GE artica refrigerator about 2 years old and the ice and water in the door has stopped working. The lights come on the front, but when you push in the lever nothing comes out, ( Water or Ice). I was wondering if it could be the control board that needs to be replaced.

Most likely the problem is a bad main control board on the back of the fridge.

- The part number for the main control board is AP3950129

I read on another forum someone replaced the entire ice tray unit and it fixed the problem. Be careful, mines started doing the same thing a couple days ago, I came home today to find the fridge and freezer warm with all the food spoiled! So watch for that.

My model number is GSH25jFTA CC.

The ice maker works just fine and always has. The problem for the last 3 or so months has been no water coming out.

The filter was way overdue to be replaced,...and when we finally did a week ago, it still did not work.

Tried to press and hold the lever for 2 minutes as the book says,...tried to blow air in the nozzle as well. Hasnt helped. I did notice that when taking the filter back out after trying to get water, there was at least some pressure that would splash a little water around.

Aside from that, I'm stumped.

Same suggestion or something a little different?

Any ideas? Help!

Check if the water storage behind the crisper drawer in the refrigerator is not frozen.

Disconnect the water line connector under the freezer door and check if the water coming out under pressure when the water dispenser release depressed.

Post the results.

Thanks alot in advance Gene. The water is not frozen in the cording in the fridge, and when we depress the water handle after disconnecting the water line under the freezer, water does come out.

In that situation it looks like the water line inside the freezer door is frozen. The easiest way is to defrost the refrigerator with the freezer door open.

But this worked and thanks for your help. It is frozen again so we'll be doing the same thing shortly.
