KitchenAid Superba Fan and lights seem to be working fine but it is not getting cold in the frig or the freezer. A friend thought that both the fan and the compressor were good and that I needed the control board Part#AP2993442 . Is there any way to confirm this for a non-technical guy? If indeed, I need this part-is it an easy snapin fix? Thanks in advance, hungry.

without personal inspection, nobody on here will confirm that is that part you need. But i have to disagree with your buddy. for if the compressor and the condenser fan, near the compressor, as well as the fan in the freezer are all in fact running, and its not getting cold in the fresh food or the freezer, sounds to more like you have a sealed system leak of refrigerant. This is not a quick little, add some freon and go, its a major repair. I would highly recommend you have a qualified refrigerator repair service at least inspect and diagnose your refrigerator.

Hi and thank you. Actually I only hear the fan in the freezer side-no fan is working on the refrig side. Does this change your thinking?

Hello,
I had a qualified refrigerator repair man come out and check our fridge. Our problem is that the freezer and frige not cooling. the bottom of the freezer is still freezing, but without the fan running its not cooling or freezing anything. the repairman said it was the control panel that was faulty. He later called me and told me the part was not available and could not fix the problem. I just found it on your site. Do you know it the control panel is what makes the fan work? if so how difficult is it to replace. If not the control panel that makes it work do you know what runs the fan. I appreciate any advice. I have fixed the ice water parts. I have had to rewire the wire that continuously get cut because of bad planning on kitchen aide.
