I got an old drop-in GE. On the bake setting the bake element is not heating. I pulled the element out on tested the resistance. There is a resistance @ 20ohms. I than tested the power that connects to the element terminals, the voltage is 120volts. I attached the element back to the terminals and the element will not heat?? The voltage at the termainals with the element connected reads prox 6 volts?? Any ides why the element will not heat?? Why does the volatge drop to 6 volts when I attach the element?

I think 20ohms is normal for a bake element?

I looked at the schematic and it looks like the bake element should be 240v (red and black wire) but with the element disconnected there is 120v?? Thoughts?

Thanks

Jesse
