Hi Keith,
No adhesive required. The gasket goes inbetween the inner and outer door panels.
Before replacing the gasket, soak the new gasket in warm water for an hour or two, then dry it with a towel.
Open the door, remove door bins, then starting from the top replace the door gasket in sections. Mentally divide the door in quarters. Remove the old gasket from the upper 1/4 and install the new gasket in place. Then the 2nd 1/4, etc. This will help keep the door panels even.
Keep in mind that you have to give it about 24 hours for the new gasket to take shape. After 24 hours, do the dollar test to make sure it's sealing correctly.
Dollar test: very simple. Slide the dollar bill inbetween the door and the cabinet, close the door and pull on the dollar. If you feel resistance, it's fine. Do this about every 6 inches all around the door. If you come to a spot where you don't feel any pull on the dollar bill, try adjusting the gasket.
Hope this helps.
