Help please.. My dishwasher is not cycling through and gets stuck in wash mode. This is what I have found..
-Timer seems ok, as it only gets stuck in wash cycle but runs through in dry area
-Water temp into machine is 130 degrees and heater seems fine
I have checked the continuity of both the thermostat and high limit with unit as room temp unplugged.
-Thermostat read 0, which is the same when I touch the leads of the meter together..
-High Limit does not read zero so i would assume that is called open...
HELP? I think I am close to figuring out the problem...

Actually one thermostat should show open at room temp.
Its the one thats connected to the timer motor circuit.
The wire colors connected to it are white with a black tracer
and tan with a red tracer.
The high limit should show closed. Its the one that connected to
the heating element. One wire is orange and the other is white
with a red tracer. Look closely at all areas of the thermostat you said checked open. Are there any numbers printed or stamped into the metal areas of the part? If so what are they ? One of them might start with an "L"

Hi there and thanks for the reply. So I am stuck. I have replaced the timer, thermostat, and the high limit and still no luck. Doesn't not want to leave the wash cycle..
Not sure what else the issue might be. Washer is 12-13 years old. Is it time to be replaced? Help..

Double check and make sure that the thermostats are in the
right place (or order). The one that is "normally closed" at room
temp should be hook in line with the heating element (the wire
colors are in my last post). And make sure the one that connects
in series with the timer is the one that is "normally open" at room temp.

I did wire them exactly per your last posting and still no luck.. Feel free to call me if you would like 310-779-6082.. I am stuck and am usually really good at fixing stuff..

Run the unit through a low energy (non heated wash).
Does the timer cycle ok? If it does then go back the heated
wash cycle and check to see if there is 120 volts AC at
heating element terminals.
