My LG621-RW fridge is leaking water into the iside of the fridge. we have removed the inside wall of the freezer but cannot get to the "cup" i see in other fridge drawings and answers. How do i take the inside wall of the fridge portion off or access from the outside back? but the outside back is all one piece except for a panel at the bottom. we have taken that off but can only see where the end of the tube drains. i am on disability and cannot afford to have a repairman come to spend hours here.

thanks - i hope you can help! Just shut the refrigerator off for 24 hours with the door open, and it will be fixed. Also look at the the refrigerator, and be sure the refrigerator is higher in the front. A good way to check is to open the door about a foot and let it go, it should close by itself. Thanks Tom - I tried that, however I believe the problem is that the pipe is plugged. there is an area inside the freezer, near the top of the drain pipe where the paint has chipped off. i am afraid a piece of that has gone in the drain pipe and may be stuck somewhere. how can i access that pipe to clean it out?

But, I would get a thin type baleing wire, and run it from the bottom up. If the box is not defrosted, I am sure the drain hole in the freezer is frozen. Is there anyway you can see the drain hole in the freezer if it were defrosted? Tom ApplianceEducator.com

Firstly, thank you so much for your help.
It is now defrosted and water runs freely from the top thru to the pan at the bottom back. thank you again.
The 2 remaining questions I have are:
- that water came into the fridge via a screw hole in the center bracket that holds the shelves. I am concerned that there is water behind the inside fridge wall. maybe in the insulation or something? ....and ...
- what makes this freezing up of the pipe happen?

Bev I am guessing that this is a freezer up top and a refrigerator on the bottom. A few things that I could think off the top of my head. One being some outside air is getting in the freezer causing this condition to happen. I would get behind the refrigerator, and look up top where the freezer would be, and any area you see, that has a cover over a pipe, or the whole where the water would come into the freezer to the icemaker if you had one, and get some plumbers putty, or what we call in Missouri, Hillbilly weather stripping, which is Duct tape. LOL!!, and cover the areas. The other thing that could be happening is air from the refrigerator is leaking inside to the freezer, and causing the drain to be freezing up. The repair on that would be to caulk, the refrigerator ceiling, from the left side, all the way around to the right side front. That would stop the warmer refrig air from going into the freezer. Many years ago Admiral had that problem with their refrigerators, and that was the fix. If you feel the insulations is frozen, the refrigerator would need 48 hours off, and the doors open. Again, I also bring up the leveling of the refrigerator. When you open that door about a foot and half then let it go, the door should close on its own. I hope this info helps you.
