Could you tell me what area you tried to clean with a brush?

Hey Angryhousewife,
If your dryer is heating but taking along time to dry, chances are that your vent that goes outside is clogged. This causes the air circulation to be poor and the damp air is not leaving the dryer. Check both ends it is not uncommon for birds to build a nest on the outside end. (it's a warm place for them to hang out) Sometimes in worse cases you can use a shop vac on one end, using a rag to seal the space between the vac hose and the vent, while someone else seals the other end and open and close the second end to cause the vac to bump any solid cloggs loose. If the dryer is heating that tells you that the dryer is indeed working.
Hope this helps!
Don

So, I'm hoping for some good news. I have a Frigidaire Crown Series gas dryer that I'm guessing is about 5-8 years old (it was left behind from the previous owner). It's been working wonderfully until recently. I noticed that after a complete drying cycle, my clothing was still damp. So, I would need to run yet another drying cycle. After 2 full cycles, my clothing is dry. The machine runs, the timer works, but the heat is not consistent. At times, when I feel the machine, it is warm, at other times it is cold. I know that gas line is open and my natural gas intake is consistent. What else could it be?
