Hi, seeing as how you were able to help this person, I'm hoping you can help me too.

It's kind of ironic because just last week I was thinking to myself how great it is that the microwave has lasted so long. And then 3 days ago, poof! It makes an awful racket, has a weird smell, does not heat, and for whatever reason (apparently my brain was on vacation), I took a bite and my mouth tingled for an hour afterwards. (did not swallow). Still lights up, there is no turn table.

I have a GE Monogram (white)
Model J Em33M 001
Serial # DH964296 S
Manufactured February 1993

Is this something that can be repaired or do I need to buy a new mircrowave.

Thank You!

Everything can be repaired as long as parts are available. The most important two questions are: How much it will cost to fix it and if it's worth it?

If you really would like to jump in, then you have to have a simple multimeter to diagnose the problem. Let us know when you ready.
