Ok, a repair man just came by and said i need a new magnatron. after he left i found the part in your store for half of what he said it would be. I went to take the microwave cover off so i could verify the part number but alas, the screws holding the case on are wierd, not allen, not phillips, not regular. they look like a star. what type of bit do i need to remove these. and once i do this and get your part is it easy to remove and install?

These are TORX screws. Many of them are tamper resistant Torx, at that. They are there as a line of defense against the average homeowner (or below average homeowner) sticking his hands where they don't belong. If you enter your microwave cabinet and come into contact with a charged capacitor, you may just leave a part of you behind, in reacting to the serious jolt you receive. If you must open the cabinet, FIRST unplug it. Then, discharge the capacitor by shorting between the (+) and (-) terminals, before you commit your hands to the job.

Almost anywhere you can buy hand tools will also sell Torx screwdrivers. Take a close look at the screws. If you see a pin in the center of the Torx socket, You need the tamper resistant Torx drivers.
