My dryer is making me pull my hair out! On any drying cycle, my gas dryer stops mid-cycle leaving clothes wet! This has been going on for quite awhile and it's driving me mad. The first time I found it mid-cycle, clothes wet, dryer off-- I pushed the knob to turn it back on. But no response. Eventually after m any days of aggravation, I figured out that, although the door seemed perfectly tightly closed, it was not. If i push the door hard where the door-clip connects, and then push the knob to start up....it works! This consistently wiull start the dryer bac k up. Sometimes, while I am still standing there it will stop again, OR maybe it will work until the load is dry, or maybe it won't. What's wrong?! Can I fix this?

Here are your parts Replacement parts for MAYTAG MDG3757AWW Dryer - Gas | AppliancePartsPros.comFirst check that the hinges etc. are OK Could be just the latch is worn or the female side may be moving in/out of the frame, see Item 22 in Section 2. Could the the door switch itself. A jiggery pokery repair for this might be to get a small fiber self stick and put it on the door so that it pushes the switch in further when the door is closed. The self stick I am referring to is the ones they use on cabinet faces so the doors do not slam. |
