This machine has been a problem almost from day 1! It has been over hauled several times do to electronic problems. Now it's out of warranty
and it's not working again! This is a first for this problem; it is stuck in the drain cycle; even with the door open. As soon as I push start it (the drain cycle) starts. I have reset using the buttons on the door panel and even cut power to the machine and left set for 30 minutes; just to see if it would somehow magically reset itself. Nothing works. Can someone come up with a solution? Thanks

This might sound like a pretty bad suggestion, but it worked for us when we had this problem and is worth a shot if you're about to blow money on repairs or waste a bunch of time taking it apart.

1. Fill a pot with a 1-2 gallons of water.
2. Dump it into the bottom of the dishwasher.
3. Close door.
4. Turn on.

Our drain was running constantly upon starting a cycle (and would run with the door open, etc.) and we'd heard that there's a part that can get stuck in the "up" position and figured, "Hey maybe if the dishwasher actually has some water to drain, it might pull the stuck part back to the "down" position.

...and despite the simplicity the dishwasher's been working without any problems for 2 months now. (04/2012)

This reply is probably too late for toungetwster but may help others. Usually when the machine is stuck in the drain cycle, it has water in the base of the unit. The base is water proof and designed to catch and hold leaks to avoid damaging floors and underlayment. There is a float mechanism in the base and if water in the base lifts the float, the machine drains and continues to drain until the water is removed and the float drops. You might have a leak in the unit somewhere or the sensor that detects the water level in the tub may have stuck overfilling the machine. The water can continue to come in the tub and will flow into the base activating the leak float. You need to pull the machine out of the cabinet while still connected to power and water. Take the left side panel off and determine if you have water in the base. If you do, unplug the dishwasher from power and try to extract the water with a wet vac. Plug the unit in to power and watch it fill and run for a full cycle to determine if you have a leak in a hose or fitting under the machine or if you had a stuck sensor on the fill cycle. Depending on where the water came from, you may be able to tighten the hose that is leaking but you may end up buying a part or two.
