Hello. I'm having a problem with my amana fridge-freezer with the freezer on the bottom. The freezer started freezing up, presumably from my kids leaving it open. Since then, we've been vigilant in making sure it's closed securely. That said, over several months, we noticed it becoming increasingly warmer...softening the ice cream, bread, etc. while keeping meats & whatnot still frozen.

We completely emptied & defrosted it using hairdryers, then put everything back. It worked great at first, but within a month the back wall was caked up again with ice, and the temperature inside began to rise, causing the aforementioned items to start to unfreeze.

Can you help me with diagnosiing this problem & determining what tests I need to run & then what parts I might need to purchase? Thanks much in advance for your help!

There is a temp sensor behind the panel in the freezer. It is not working, so it keeps freezing until it ices over. It just needs to be replaced.
