Hello guys and gals, I've had the thermal fuse blow for the second time. The front panel will not light up, I do have power to the dishwasher. It stopped when it was running and after searching I think I need to replace both the thermal fuse (as well as the wire connecting to it) and the heater element. Can anyone tell me if I'm on the right track? Thank You Corey Griggs Montgomery, AL

Your model number seems to be missing a couple digits off the end so I cannot find the correct tech sheet.
Did you replace the wiring harness the first time you replaced the fuse?
I doubt it is the heater unless it had a hot spot and was arcing internally. Remove one wire from it and check it with a meter, should be about 25 ohms.
Knowing where in the cycle the fuse blew would be helpful, any idea?
The fuse is designed to blow with temperature but will also blow due to current.
Is the unit on a separate line, low voltage will cause a higher current flow.
Some units use a thermistor and some a thermostat to regulate the temperature so it may be the cause.
Could be the vent is not opening if the unit has one.
Note this can be a pain to find as you have a number of components that can blow it. |

The full model number is DU943PWKB0. I did not replace the harness when I replaced the fuse. By harness I think you mean the wire that came with the fuse in this picture http://www.appliancepartspros.c...Vy9zb3RvaHB0cmFwLw%3d%3dIt blew during the wash cycle as the washer was full of water. I have a multimeter and will check the voltage and current. Thank You Corey Griggs Montgomery, AL
