I was wondering if you could help me solve my latest problem with my Frigidaire MRS26LGJ? The ice maker works. But I can't get it to dispense ice cubes or crushed ice. When pushing the button to get either, the mechanism makes a noise, but nothing comes out. I open the freezer door, and open the ice bin door, and the ice is pushed from the back of the bin to the front of the bin. So I know the auger is working. It's like a trap door is not opening to let the ice out. I removed the bin, and cleaned it. I did notice rust on the metal parts at the front of the bin. While the bin was removed, I manually checked the parts at the rear of the freezer to see if they were working. The drive spun, and the little door to the right of the drive, opened and closed (with a loud click), depending on whether I wanted crushed or cubed ice. Any suggestions? Thanks. Jim Hayden

Hi Jim,
Did the ice door in the dispenser open when you pushed the lever?
Did the ice cubes stuck in the ice chute on the freezer door?
Gene.

If you are talking about the little trap door in the ice chute, the answer is no. Ice doesn't make it to the chute to get stuck.

The drive blade which drives the ice dispenser is stripped out and lets the auger spin with out moving ice forward. To replace part you have to remove auger just remember the order the crushing blades came off. You may have to replace auger if worn. Go to www.appliancepartspros.com select diagram #4 ice container part #17 Drive blade Part Number: AP3959143 made by FRIGIDAIRE about $15 Good Luck :)

The ice does move forward to the front of the ice bin, but doesn't come out. It's as if the ice is not dropping into the crushing part of the mechanism, ar getting past that part. Does this still mean that the driver blade which drives the ice dispenser is still stripped?

yes, see if you can rotate the drive blade while you hold the auger still if so the drive blade is stripped.

Because the metal plate at the inside front of the ice bin was rusted, I decided to replace the entire bin. It arrived, I installed, and it now dispenses and crushes ice beautifully. Thanks for your input.

I just want to replace the entire bin! Rust is coming from somewhere and it dispenses out with the ice! It's a pain! I've had this refrigerator for about 6 or 7 years now. Where did you get yours so I can purchase one too? I would REALLY appreciate it
