Hi--I'm new to Dryer repair, but pretty handy. My Maytag LDG-7304 AAE started making "that famous Maytag dryer rumbling sound." Yes, in fact, it was the blower fan, and I put a new one in successfully. But 1 week later, the gas dryer would ignite just once, go out, and fail to come on again, even though the igniter would glow orange-hot. So, now I think I've got the "classic gas dryer coils are shot" problem. I see 2 coils on a board, at the front of the dryer, in line with the igniter/ gas tubes.
Here's my question, does anyone have ideas/suggestions/tips on replacing these coils? Is there a trick, or any pitfalls? Anyone have a diagram or repair manual for theis ldg-7304aae--Maytag doesn't! Thanks, folks!:)

Here's the parts breakdown. The coils are retained by a bracket that is attached with two screws. Just unplug the machine first. It's next to impossible to get it wrong: The connectors are fool proof.LDG7304AAE

I read your reference to "famous Maytag rumbling sound" and that's us! I took the back panel off and dusted to see what I was in for and noticed that my belt is a little chewed up after years of service. But it sounds as if I need to replace the "blower fan"?? Prior to reading your posting I was searching for some way to repack or grease the bearings on any of the wheels involved. What are your thoughts? Thanks!

I'm not sure my prior message made it to you, but I'm going to try again. We are experiencing the same "rumbling sound" and I took the back panel off of the dryer, dusted and found that my belt was a little chewed up after years of service. But it sounds that the "blower fan" could be the culprit. Before reading your posting I was looking for some bearings to repack. Can you walk me thru the process on the blower fan and belt? Thank you! Originally Posted by: jj912 Hi--I'm new to Dryer repair, but pretty handy. My Maytag LDG-7304 AAE started making "that famous Maytag dryer rumbling sound."
