To repair a water leak at the water valve I pulled the refrigerator out, took off the cardboard cover at the bottom and removed the copper attachment cleaned it reassembled and tightened. While I was down there I used the vacuum to clean all the dust accumulation and got to close to the compressor fan while it was running. Now it rattles. I unplugged the refrigerator and cleaned the fan blades. I noticed there was a lot of in/out slop. It now has an unpleasant noise, more of a rumble than a rattle. I just wonder if it was damaged to the point where it will stop running correctly.

You may have bent the blade. Unplug the machine and manually rotate the fan blade to see if it comes into contact with anything. Correct what you find.
