The water in my side by side Kenmore is not working. The icemaker is making ice. When pushing the water dispenser I could hear a noise comming from the back. Now I dont hear a sound. Dis I completeely distroy the valve? What do I need to replace or how do I figure out what I need to replace.
Thanks

Locate the water dispenser solenoid (5/16" tube) on the water inlet valve (on the back of the refrigerator). Disconnect the wires from this solenoid and check the solenoid for continuity. Check for 120 VAC between these wires while the dispenser calls for water.

If there is correct voltage reading or there is no continuity, replace the water inlet valve.
