My washer overflows without agitating. Trying to open it, I undid all screws at the lower part from side to back, but still could not get it apart from the body. Looks like it needs to be open from the top, but I do not know how. Any suggestion is appreciated.

Well, start by putting everything back together.

If the water will stop when you turn off the machine the problem is with the water pressure switch which controls the water level. Check to make sure the tube from the switch to the tub is clear and unblocked. If so, replace the pressure switch.

If the water will not stop when the machine is shut off, replace the valve assembly.

Here is a service manual that Maytag lists for your model.

Thanks, I should have checked back for any response.
I found and fixed the problem. It was the clear tube connected to the presure switch. It fell off. I reconnect it with a metal clam.
Thanks again.

Great, glad you got it fixed and that it was an easy repair.
