I recently purchased this fridge from an acquaintance. I was aware that the freezer coils iced up in approximately one week's time and the unit quit cooling. The owner told me he had consulted someone about this and it was likely the adaptive defrost control. I plugged the unit in and while the fan runs, the compressor does not kick in. I replaced the defrost control, but that has made no difference. I am not sure what to do next. THe compressor was replaced about one year ago. Any advice would be appreciated. Melissa

If both freezer and condensing fans are running, you probably have a bad compressor start device.

Thank you...I could not find anything on the schematic called a compressor control. I was told I may need to replace the control assembly, temperature. Is that the same thing?
