My Maytag washer randomly stops filling during the wash cycle. For example the Hot/Cold wash/rinse is selected and the hot water stops flowing before filling to the appropriate level causing the timer to stop. This also happens during the rinse cycle. When the water stops it makes a jerking kind of sound and then a humming noise - but no water. I can switch to cold water and it will continue to fill.
I've replaced the water inlet solenoid, the water level sensor/selector, the temperature control switch, and the timer itself. I'm out of ideas and would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Are you using those Inlet hoses with the valves in them that prevent flooding...

Unbelievable... I am using hoses with safety valves. They're stainless steel and I got them at Home Depot thinking it was the smart way to go and I suspect they just cost me over $100 in parts...
I switched out to a rubber hose, seems to be working perfectly. Thanks so much for the help.
