My GE Profile makes a loud swooshing sound during the wash cycle. Seems to be washing ok, but not as well as before. Thought maybe the drum was shifting back and fourth during agitation. Little water leaking on the floor too.

Help!
Thanks so much...Too many kids to not have a properly working washer.

It is going to be very difficult for us to diagnose the sounds, but if you take off the front panel, which you can do by inserting a putty knife or screw driver in the gap between the top and front, releasing clips that hold the front panel on, you will be able to operate the machine and observe it running.

Try to locate the source of the noise. Also you should be able to see where it is leaking. Finally look at the motor and see if you see any blinking lights, and if so, their pattern.

GE is very tight with tech information, but if you open up the console you should find some tech notes in their that may help you.

Let us know what you find out and where the leak is.
