Hi, I just purchased a Maytag Centennial MED5820TW0 dryer from Sears.
The timer has two "Wrinkle Prevent" cycles on it, a 30-minute cycle, and a 90-minute cycle, which periodically tumble the drum after the Auto-Dry cycle has completed. It also has a 3-position switch on the console for "Wrinkle-Prevent" OFF, 30min, and 90min.
After running through the Auto Dry cycle, the timer motor continues to run into the "Wrinkle Prevent" cycle even if the "wrinkle prevent" switch on the front panel is set to OFF. The timer motor seems to stop after the 30 minute wrinkle prevent if the 3-position switch is set to OFF or 30 Min.
Is this normal behavior? Or do I need to call the service tech?

Is this normal behavior? Or do I need to call the service tech? Does it tumble at this time? If it does when the switch is "off" - this is not normal and you have to call Sears. If it does not - don't worry about it. Gene.

No, only the timer motor runs. However, the boss doesn't like it and she wants it fixed. My concern is that they'll come out, replace the timer, and it will do the same thing. My question is, "is that normal?" If it is, maybe I can convince the boss.

I can not tell you exactly because I do not have the tech sheets for this model.
Gene.
