There is a smell of gas under the stove even when everything is turned off. The oven takes a long time to heat up and I have just replaced the igniter (part # AP2150412) and that did not help. I have checked every gas connection with soapy water and have found no leaks. The gas company (propane) also believes the leak to be under the stove. I think it is the safety valve (part # AP2138239) but have read that the valve going bad is a very rare problem. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Looks like the gas leak you have is very slow which is very hard to detect with soapy water. Guessing is not the best way to fix anything. I would recommend to use the portable gas leak detector to pinpoint the gas leak.

Test all connections and gas parts as shown on the break down diagram and post your findings.

After using the gas leak indicater, I located a VERY SLOW leak on the top of the dual gas safety valve where it enters the oven burner. I tried to tighten the nut on it but it is still leaking. I don't know if I can unscrew the piece off of the top and reset it with teflon tape, I don't know that I would want to. Should I now replace the dual gas safety valve?

Yes, this is the best solution.

- The part number for the dual gas safety valve is AP2138239

Here is the break down diagrams for the Frigidaire range Model FGF350BBWA
