I have a Frigidaire side by side that has me stumped, although I am new at the appliance business. On this unit, the compressor and condenser fan do not come on and have no voltage at their terminals. The evaporator fan is running. I jumped the compressor directly to power with a "3 in 1" and the compressor started, but didn't sound normal.

I'm wondering if refrigerators have a pressure switch like cars have the won't allow the cooling components to run if there is no freon in the system. The refrigerator was running fine two days ago when we sold it. I don't want to open this system if it's not necessary, but I may have to check it with a piercing valve.

Thanks in advance for any help with this matter.

If they have no voltage at the terminals then it is not the compressor or the fan.

A model number may help others help you

Yeah, I figured that out when I hooked a 3-in-1 to direct power and the compressor came on that is wasn't the problem. The real question is why is there no power to the compressor and fan terminals? Is it because of a pressure switch somewhere or something else? This machine was working great in our shop two days ago. I'll get the model number next time I'm in the shop. I have a service call to go on now.
