My freezing coils are not defrosting so I tried wiring the heat element directly, omitting the t-stat. It still does not work. Is there a computer or timer that also controls this or knows not to turn on because the t-stat is omitted? I know the heater element works I tested it for continuity and wired it in to a cord and plugged it in. It heated up fine. I ordered a t-stat but I'm not 100% that is what it is. What could it be?
