I bought a Hotpoint refrigerator in early 2004 but did not have it delivered until late 2005. After about a year the water dispenser quit working. Ice dispenser would just drag at times. Then the water dispenser just started working again. I recently went out of town and my roommate informed me that it just quit, other than the lights in dispenser compartment that just kept flickering. Now up to this point there were time when I would hear a whirring and clunking sound and then it would stop after a while. My roommate claims he did some research and beleives it is the Main control board and that there is a recall on this particular part for my particular frig. Problem is.....he is out of town and can't be reached....how do I find out about this recall....I have gone to Hotpoint.com but cannot find any forum that would give me this info

Just to clarify, there is no recall as you describe, but there is a problem with some of the boards on these models, and GE is fixing them free of charge. The model# and Serial# have to be within a certain range to get the free repair. If you get me your serial# I can let you know if your refer is within the range

Hello, I had a problem with a GE Profile refridgerator. They replaced the main board because the cooloing wnet out in the fridge and the freezer. the temp shot up to 60degrees .
The main board was replaced. They did not charge for the board, but I had to pay $187 for the labor.
My seial number is:TF307339 Model:PTS22LHPARWW Can you tell me if this model was affected? Thanks

Can you tell me if mine's on the list PLEASE!! Thanks!

I'm wondering if anyone on here has had this problem? This refrigerator has had a new mother board approx. 2 yrs ago! Does anyone know if this might be a recall issue? And also does anyone here know how to look up recalls?
Thanks a bunch,
Marli
