when i turned the knob on the defrost timer till it clicked it didn't work the first time but on the second or third time it finally defrosted.
when testing my defrost thermostat with a digital tester set on the 200k ohm setting it read 57.4. is this normal?
when testing the defrost heater it read 0.0 or closed.
should i let it be and wait to see what happens or do you think i should replace any thing while i've got it apart?
thanks tony

Hi Anthony,

According to your description, looks like the problem is a bad defrost timer.

You can learn how to diagnose a defrost system from one of previous posts: http://forum.appliancepartspros...frigerator-too-warm.html

The model number you posted is incorrect and I'm not able to find the right part number. Verify and repost it, please.

Gene.

Is there frost covered the freezer back panel?

Is there anything wrong with temperatures in the freezer and the fresh food compartments?

Gene.

I would replace the defrost thermostat, probably your original problem.
