I have a Roper Model RES7745PQ0 29" Electric dryer that stopped running. I have tested all switches for continuty and have the proper voltage at the motor . Timer appears to be working, and moving but no signal to the motor when the start button is pushed. Start button stays in and pops out when I manually turn the timer. Where and what do I check next. I have the dryer on my shop table in several pieces and I am almost to the point of taking it to the scrap yard and buying a new on but feel as though I am overlooking something. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks:confused:

Here is a wiring diagram

Did you check the thermal fuse on the blower, Item7 in Section 3.
I am assuming this included the Push To Start relay contacts.
Did you check the timer switch 4 and the timer BU/BK contacts?

Do not understand the above.
You say you have voltage and then say you do not get a signal which I interpret that you do not have the correct voltage.
If you have 120 volts across the motor it should run, if not it is toast.
Check it's windings for continuity.

denman,
thanks for the schematic, Going down your checklist this morning I removed the timercompletely to check the timer switch 4 as you sugessted. Once I removed it I heard something rattling inside it. I put my meter on T & W terminals, which if I understand the schematic correctly should be a closed contact throughout a majority of the timer positions, it was not showing any continuity. I removed the metal plate from the back of the timer switch and out fell a little round piece. After futher inspection it fell off of the end of the W contact. I think there is here my problem is!! Thanks for thevery helpful information and I will let you know how it turns out after I replace the timer.

Regards,
CSnyder
