My wife turned on the oven and a very loud pop was heard. It blew the breaker to the whole house. Now the oven doesn't work (either element) but the stove top is ok. Convection fan also runs. Elements seem ok. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Here are the parts for a CB4, yours should be a close match

Here is a wiring diagram

First I would unplug it and find out what popped.
Look for burned off wires and tell tale weld/arc marks.
Check the timer/control board for blown components.

Since the convection fan runs, I assume that the oven light is also OK. This indicates that your power is OK re: Neutral is good.
Good stove top element heating indicates that the 240 volts is OK.

You did not say if the timer/clock (control board) was not running.
Need more info on the symptoms.

If the top burners work, then there will be no power issue. It will most likely be the clock control board. It controls the oven. The part # is 318193201 Tom ApplianceEducator.com

I will check out your suggestions. Everything except the oven elements work. The clock, timer etc are operational.

Pull the back panel off the oven, and see if there is a broken wire from one of the elements. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

Checked out the wiring and control panel, no signs of any burned wiring or black marks etc. The wiring for the elements seems very simple so I guess it has to be either an element problem or a component of the control panel.

I would get a cheap volt/ohm meter at radio shack for 20 bucks, and ohm out the element. Or if you have a part house near you, they could most likely ohm it out for you. If it is good, you will need to replace the clock control. Tom www.appliuanceeducator.com/parts.htm

This happen to me too.The only diference is the clock is not working.Please help

If your model number is different I would start your own thread using "Post New Topic" Units can vary greatly in how they are wired and some units have a fuse for the control board.

The basic troubleshooting is the same.
Check for fried wires and blown up components and check the power going to the board. The board has 220 volts going to it for the elements but also should have 120 volts which drives the electronics. Note some units have a relay board which sometimes provides a lower voltage to drive the board.

My model # is cfef372cb2 and exept few posts,I can't find anything else about this model.I posted here since we are having the same problem.
