I have a bad ignitor module causing my stove top burners (4) to not light unless lit by a match, etc.
I have a blue spark module now with an Eaton name (now Robertshaw) with a 76470-01 number on one side with a 90 32 A below it. The Chambers 4 burner gas cooktop, model GSU-33 E1 (ser C-231995) is not listed anywhere. I know it was a division of Rangaire Corp, Oxford MISSISSIPPI.
I assume the Eaton Controls # 76470-01 may be a replacement unit since the rangetop is 1982 vintage.
Where can I get a replacement ignitor or if you can give me an OEM # ?

The numbers you posted did not come up but I steel believe we can find the right part for you.

The best thing is if you can post a pictures of the original part.

If you can not, then we need the number of terminals with marks on each one.

Gene.

Thanks for the reply but I found another look-alike unit also made by Eaton but with a Maytag part # on it obviously to double the price!
What a racket; Eaton appears to make vast majority and everyone else puts their own number on it. Its too bad someone didn't have set of Eaton #s and a place to purchase so one could purchase the original eaton parts and not the inflated Vendor parts.

cheers,

I took a digital photo of the part and compared it to the generic parts at a local appliance parts place and online. I think there are a lot of generic parts that are purchased by folks like Maytag and they put the Maytag name on it and charge 2 or 3 X the amount. REad the **** or web offerings carefully and look at the picture; I'm sure you find one the LOOKS and ACTS like the Chambers but with a different name. Some web/**** folks do a good job describing the generic name of these parts. Then its just a matter of size of componenet, size of spade lug connectors, and pin numbers, etc.

Baracoa,

If you can post a picture of the part then we can help you to match it up and find a good price.

Thanks to all for the prompt replies. I did as advised, found a suitable part and now my cooktop automatically lights again! Heaven!

76470-01 is a Glenwood part number. It substitutes to Amana/Caloric # 311627 (whom owned Glenwood) and is now substituted by Maytag/Whirlpool to part number 1430322. You can see it at the following link:

LINK > 1430322 Maytag/Whirlpool 2+0 Spark Module

Maybe Glenwood made the cooktop in their plant for Rangaire? Rebranding is still a common practice by appliance manufacturer's (see the following link).

Please, please take pictures of your cooktop inside, and the ignitor unit you found, etc. etc. Your needs may have been met but the rest of us with these wonderful cooktops are still trying to rescue ours, and you can perform a valuable service. Many thanks.
