I need help. I have an older Maytag washer that just quit running today. It will fill up with water but it will not do anything else. It won't spin or drain or agitate and other than filling up with water it makes no noises.

I checked the door switch and it checks out fine.

Am I wrong to assume that it's the timer? It does not advance at all.

Thanks in advance!

If the switches are good, and the fuse in the switch assembly is good I'd grab the timer knob, and violently push and pull it in, and out, and kinda wiggle it around. sometimes it'll let you know if the timer is the problem. Also could be the receptacle, the water level switch, or the motor.
