geo Most likely the problem with your microwave is a shorted rectifier or a shorted magnetron tube. - The part number for the new rectifier is AP3772273. - The part number for the new magnetron tube is AP3769081. Good luck. Gene.

Hi Joe, The first thing I would test is a secondary interlock switch (#2 on the latch board break down diagram) If the switch is fine then the question is: does your microwave make any unusual noise? If it does then most likely the problem is a shorted rectifier (#9 on the magnetron and the air flow break down diagram) or a shorted magnetron tube (#1 on the magnetron and the air flow break down diagram. If there is a continuity across the rectifier terminals (using a regular meter) - it has to be replaced. If there is a continuity between any of the magnetron tube terminals and the body of the magnetron tube - it has to be replaced. In case if the high voltage transformer shorted out, in most cases it should produce an electrical burning smell and a smoke. - The break down diagrams for the Whirlpool microwave Model MH7130XEQ1- The part number for the door interlock switch kit is AP3109474- The part number for the rectifier is AP3955781- The part number for the magnetron tube is AP3081175- The part number for the high voltage transformer is AP3081176Good luck. Gene.

I have a Kenmore Model # 721.80012401 with this same problem. I am guessing this pretty much applies. Is this correct. And If so does anyone know where I can find the diagram and Price for this model. Is this part hard to change? Would it just snap in or would I need special tools.
Thanks Max

Hi trevlacxam
What part are talking about? What exactly is wrong with your microwave?
All technical documentation for your Kenmore microwave should be behind the top panel or inside the control panel. If it's not there, you can buy it from Sears only.
