I have a great dryer that seems to work and wont heat up.
I bought a new heater element and put it in without too much trouble and still no heat, do i need to change the thermal cut-off and the thermosdat for sure??!!!?? I am getting a lil discouraged here I thought that I was in the clear with the heater. thanks all!!!

How much testing are you willing to do?

Taking the troubleshooting route: I would first check both circuit breakers, then make sure I get 220 volts at the wall socket, then with the dryer unplugged I would check the terminal block (this is where the power cord is connected to the dryer). Using an ohmmeter I would then check for continuity: thermal fuse, thermistor and heating element (since you just replaced it, skip testing the element). Replace whatever failed component you found.

Guessing: at least check the circuit breaker. There are two of them for the dryer, side by side. Make sure one of them is not tripped. Then replace the thermal fuse and hope for the best.

Whichever route you take, I would also check the venting. Make sure that the entire vent system (inside the dryer; vent hose in the back; as well as inside the wall) is clear.
