Have a State water heater about 8 years old. We run out of hot water quickly now. What hot water we get is hot, but quickly goes cold after 2 normal showers. I can get the model number when I get home if necessary, but it sounds like maybe a common problem.
Possibly the lower thermostat?

Could be a Upper or Lower stat, or an Element. More than over, it may be full of calcium, which hogs the tank from having water to heat. Have you done any testing yet?

It turned out to be the heating element and the total cost to fix was $128.00. We were very pleased. Thank you.
