My fridge is not very cold on the high settings compresser fan is working and so is the frezzer fan after having doors open and close a couple of times you do not hear it kick up to recool it again.

Remove the back freezer panel and describe the frost pattern.

took it out and the coil was frozen completly up defrosted it with hair dryer.why would it do that and where do i go from here

Go to the sticky above "GE refrigerator (GSS and PSS models)" and do the manual defrost test, may just be a bad defrost heater, very common with these models. If the heater is bad it will show black inside with a blown out area.
