disposal leaks when turned on profusely from inside unit, comes out bottom where electrical is. Is this repairable or need replaced?? original appliance, home is 15yrs old. appreciate any advice

I just ran into the same problem & a service company advised what I thought...that they don't repair disposal units as they are cheaper to replance than to repair. Also, Consumer Reports has the Waste King brand rated tops by far & found them cheaper (basically on line distributors only & most had free shipping). I got real lucky & found Costco had a 3/4 hp unit with 10 year warranty or a 1 hp unit with lifetime warranty both were under $100 & free shipping.:D
