Hello!
I have a Whirpoll Quiet Partner III that is about 5 years old. Recently I have noticed that if I start a load, at some point it stops, as I'll come by and notice it not running, and notice the LED display shows "--" blinking as it would if you opened the door partway through the cycle. If I press up against the door I hear a small 'click' and away it goes, back to normal. So I think there is something wrong with the latch or switch(es) or a sensor in that general area. Not a dishwasher expert, but I am handy. I've got the front door pulled apart and am looking at the handle/latch area. I see two switches, everything seems OK. Is maybe something getting worn down somewhere in this area? Any ideas? Thanks! The problem is getting progressively worse. Yesterday I was not able to get it to continue washing simply by pushing on the door. I had to open it, fiddle with the metal thing that sticks out of the washer (and goes into the door when you close it), and then i was able to get it to 'click' and start back up again.
Thanks in advance!

Edit: The little thing that i fiddle with is apparently called the 'strike' and I'm starting to wonder - could the be wearing out? Maybe not 'springy' enough to hold the switch down anymore? The switches and latch appear to be fine....
