The bottom broiler on my Frigidaire Double Oven does not work. I don’t think that it ever worked, but it was out of warranty before I realized it. We usually use the top oven except for holidays and parties. I tested the bottom broiler element by swapping it with the top oven with no luck. The bottom bake element works, except when I select the clean mode, then neither element heats up.

Could this be a short in the wiring for the broiler? The wiring diagram shows a common thermal circuit breaker for the bake and broiler elements. Do thermal circuit breakers reset themselves when they are tripped? If I pull the oven out can I access the wiring from the back?

If you have a common circuit breaker for both elements then both elements would not be working. You probably have a bad control. The heat in self clean mode just is too much for the electronics.
