My Whirlpool Dryer (model LEQ9030PQ0) is not working. When plugged in, it makes a buzzing or humming noise and has a burning smell. I checked the belt and it seems fine. Can it be the motor?

Thanks!!!

Your problem is the type we really need to be there to see, so I can only make some suggestions. Try to see if the drum will turn easily by hand, if not, you will need to take it out and see what is binding it.

If the drum is turning freely, take off the belt and see if the motor turns.
If the motor does not turn then it may be bad. then with the power off see if it turns freely, if not it will probably have to be replaced.

Thanks for the reply. The drum does turn easily by hand. I'll try turning the motor without the belt tonight when I get home.

Thanks!!!
