I have a GE Spacemaker dryer that will not start.
When hitting the start button it just makes a buzzing noise. I checked to make sure it was getting 220. Belt is OK. Basket turns freely.
Is their a starter relay of some sort that might be the problem?

Open the door. Depress the door switch, push the start button and turn the drum with your hand. You probably need someone to help you.

If the dryer will start then the start winding on the motor is bad and the motor has to be replaced.

- The part number for the motor is AP2043551
