In the process if replacing the impeller kit on my dishwasher. I have removed the motor and pump assmbly from the dishwasher but cannot separate the two. I've removed the three screws holding the assmbly together. Should the pieces just pull apart? Diagrams dont show any other device or screw holding the impeller to the motor arm. Is it just stuck from rust or corrosion? The dw is at least 9 yrs old.

Was thanked: 2 time(s) in 2 post(s)
If the impeller is worn, just grab it with pliers, jam the motor at the back, and just unscrew it. Probably counterclockwise.

thank you for your help. in the process of trying to unscrew the impeller from the shaft the part itself broke. the plastic was very brittle (old). but once that happened the rest fell into place. the old impeller slid right off. after cleaning the motor arm (shaft?) the new pieces slid right on and the dw is no longer leaking as before. once again, appreciate your time, this website is the best and i will promote it heavily.
