Hello--

While cooking last night, one of my knobs seems to have broken. Not the knob, but the shaft that the knob sits on. It isn't "tight" in its place--I can move the shaft around (like a loose tooth), and it gives when I push on it. I can't seem to turn the knob/shaft--it just sits there moving in every direction except rotating like it's supposed to. As a result, I can't turn the burner on or off. Luckily the burner actually is off right now.

I'm somewhat comfortable making simple repairs, and this one seems like it would be easy if I can figure out the right part that I need (assuming a part is needed instead of just making an adjustment), and if I can figure out how to get to the piece that needs to be fixed.

Any thoughts or suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jeff

Looking over the parts breakdown, it looks like I need to order the entire switch (which I have done). I can't easily fix the shaft itself--the whole switch has to be replaced.

If anyone has any suggestions that I should keep in mind when I replace this part, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,
Jeff
