The machine stops after the rinse cycle, and the timer continues to the end of the cycle without having drained or spun.
If I turn the knob all the way around to spin again, the washer will drain and spin.
This occurs in BOTH the "Colors" and "Whites" cycles.

Unusual problem, but since the machine does work correctly in a mechanical sense I suspect the timer. Fortunately it is not expensive so I think it is worth trying. Here is the part. Part number: AP4027911

It was the indeed the timer. Not exactly inexpensive ($103.52) when sourced locally though...
I did find it for as low as $67 on the internet, but wouldn't have had it in time for laundry day!

Well, good and glad you got it going. Yeah it is expensive, but you saved the huge mark up a tech visit would have charged plus the labor, so you really came out ahead. Thanks for the update.
