My Whirpool Quiet Partner III will not run. The model is GU2548XTPS3. The "clean" LED flashes 7 times slowly and pauses, then flashes 7 times and pauses, etc. When I set the options and press start, the "start" LED blinks 3 times fast and goes off. The other LEDs stay on and the "time" displays "--" and the "clean" LED flashes as described above (7 times, pause, etc.). After about a minute, the other option LEDs go out and only the "clean" blinks and pauses as described.
When I press "cancel" the timer shows "2" and I can hear the drain pump go on. Again, the "clean" LED blinks and pauses as above. After 2 minutes, the timer counts down and the pump stops.
No combination of cleaning cycle options seems to work. I have tried turning off the power to see if it would reset. The problem persisted.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Jim

Your machine is telling you it had a problem reaching the proper wash temp.. alternate pushing no heat and the button next to it back and forth till all the console lights light up... that put into a test mode.. you can push the start button to advance thru the steps.. then use it again if it continues you will need to test the heater circuit. The is a tech sheet behing the lower toe panel with all tests..

Thanks for the information. I ran the self-test, as you suggested. It went all the way through and all the LEDs went out, including "clean" which had been blinking. I ran a wash and it seemed to go all the way through the cycle. However, at the end, the "clean" LED reverted to the pattern of 7 blinks followed by a pause loop. I ran the self-test again and, again, I was able to run through a wash cycle. And, again, it ended with "clean" flashing 7 times followed by a pause. Any suggestions of where to go from here?
One thing we did notice is that the cycle seemed to take about 30 minutes, or so. I didn't time it precisely, in either case. Previously, it seemed like the wash cycle would take almots two hours. We had thought this was normal. Does that make sense or does it imply that there is another issue present?
I appreciate any advice you can offer.
Jim

Below is exactly what the machine my daughter got second hand does. I will try to reset this machine as you suggested to Jim and see what happens. If this does not fix the problem, I will contact you next week. Originally Posted by: jimc_lmc My Whirpool Quiet Partner III will not run. The model is GU2548XTPS3. Make sure the water temperature from the water line is at least 120 degrees and check your heating circuit for a bad heater, burnt wire, or bad thermostat.

Now we have learned you need to refer to the service sheet under the front panel. It will give you a series of buttons to push to enter the diagnostic mode. This will reset the computer, then cancel and the dishwasher will come back to normal.
