Where can I find a replacement wheel/axle for the middle rack? It is the front right plastic wheel that goes in the groove of the metal track (part #17 I think). The screw that holds the wheel to the rack has striped the plastic and will not hold the middle rack up. The center axle in the wheel is striped/fractures. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi wyhlidko,

Yeah, all bad luck. I found the part but had to buy the whole assembly. When I got the assembly I found out that it didn't come close to fitting the rack. Totally different connection points. I called the vender and they told me that this was the only part that is made for the model. I called Maytag and said they changed the design and no longer makes the correct part nor do they have it in stock. No appologies or suggestions either. Maytag sucks and I will never ever by anything from Maytag again. We have had nothing but problems with it. It doesn't dry, the plastic parts break, the door handle and latch broke, and the railing system twists. And all this within the first 3-4 years of use.

What I have been doing to jury rig it until we can afford to buy an new dishwasher is filling the wheel hub where the plastic axle was with epoxy, cover it with wax paper, slide it into the track and then push the screw into the epoxy. I hold it in place for 24 hours with a clamp. The wheel doesn't roll but it does slide in and out and holds the rack in place. HTH
