Ok good

As I said, we are not part of the parts operation, or even part of APP but they are good folks. Keep after them if you are not satisfied.

I think the probllem is Maytag's, which is not unusual in that they keep changing things to try to cover up their poor design and engineering of recent note.

Let us know how it works out, and if you want me to do a little more checking post the serial number and the part number of the timer they sent you and I will see what I can find out, but I doubt I will be able to do more than APP.

Is this what APP sent you?

Yes that's the number with (22001538) next to it. The Maytag washer model # is LAT9235AAE and serial # isA0774136 MH. The research folks said this is the correct one but it's not the one they show in their parts list which is the one I need. The new one also has a Magic Chef sticker on it. Besides a different shaft, the timer motor is wired differently. I took pictures of both and maybe I can try research again. How to remove the pump.doc (25kb) downloaded 11 time(s). How to replace the motor drive coupling.doc (25kb) downloaded 12 time(s). Hopefully the pics worked here. Thanks again.

Good, there are two timers specified for your model, don't know why they had such a hard time with that. This one is a few bucks cheaper, so they owe you some change.

Have a Happy Holiday Season and let us know if this finally gets going.

I finally got another timer from APP and it appears to be the correct one. The boxes both have the same number so the other one must have been mispackaged. Anyway it seems to be working. Thanks for all your help and have a safe and Happy New Year.

I think you are right about the packaging, which explains why APP was having a problem. They are really good folks when it comes to parts so I could not beleive they were unable to send you the right one.

Thanks for the update, it is very helpful to a lot of folks who are following this thread.

Good luck with your washer.
